Quiet Aluminum^®: An Innovative NVH Solution That Reduces Weight, Noise and Cost

MSC Quiet Aluminum^® has the same Noise, Vibration, and Harshness (NVH) damping performance as MSC Quiet Steel^® but with only 66-percent of the mass. Quiet Aluminum^® uses an engineered viscoelastic layer laminated between two sheets of aluminum to meet application-specific damping, temperature, stiffness and operating environment needs. It can be supplied as continuous coil or blanked sheets with a variety of coatings from forming lubricants to pre-paint.

Quiet Aluminum^® is ideal for weight-sensitive automotive applications on electric vehicles, fuel cell powered vehicles and heavy trucks. Components including seat storage tubs, package trays, back panels, wheelhouses, front and mid-floor pans, cowl plenums and dash panels are excellent candidates for Quiet Aluminum^®.
