Sound Trap^®: The Cost-Effective Way to Quiet Cast Parts

MSC Sound Trap^® is an engineered add-on NVH solution for cast parts which can be mechanically fastened or adhered with an integral pressure-sensitive adhesive. Sound Trap^® is suitable for high temperature applications such as cast aluminum oil pans and transmission housings. When mechanically fastened it is also suitable for oily or painted metals.

Sound Trap^® provides the NVH performance of a Constrained Layer Damping material along with the flexibility to incorporate a variety of metals including cold-rolled steel, hot-dip and electrogalvanized steel, stainless steel, aluminum and MSC Quiet Steel^®. Sound Trap^® typically is supplied as a pre-formed shape to conform to specific features of the casting to which it is applied.
